Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – North CarolinaStart Date: August 31, 2026Location: North CarolinaCompensation: Details provided to qualified applicantsSchedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), 36 hours per week. Minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week schedule, potentially every other weekend. Float requirement between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on departmental needs.Highlights:

  • High-volume Emergency Department with 250 visits per day and 101 beds
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-5
  • 26-week contract assignment at a regional referral and tertiary care center
  • EPIC charting system with Pyxis, SBAR protocols, and daily shift huddles
  • 24 hours of unit orientation provided
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, MOAB, and CPI
  • TNCC certification preferred
  • Proficiency in IV insertion, triage, and telemetry monitoring
  • Experience with EPIC charting system required
  • Must successfully pass EKG competency testing prior to start date
  • Skills required: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV vasopressor administration, and isolation precautions
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
