Job description: Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Commercial Electric Estimator in Clemmons, NC. The Commercial Electric Estimator is responsible for preparing comprehensive bid documents and cost estimates for diverse commercial electrical construction projects. This role requires a high level of technical expertise in NEC codes, Division 26 specifications, and complex systems such as fire alarms and lighting controls. The ideal candidate brings over five years of experience in the commercial sector and is highly proficient in McCormick estimating software.Job Type: ContractPay: $28 to $30 Per Hour BOEResponsibilities:
- Prepare and complete accurate bid documents and cost estimates for diverse commercial electrical construction projects.
- Evaluate bid specifications and architectural drawings to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements and scope.
- Perform detailed take-offs and cost analysis using McCormick estimating software.
- Ensure all project estimates comply with NEC code requirements and Division 26 Specifications.
- Coordinate and estimate complex systems including lighting controls, fire alarms, and emergency electrical systems.
- Collect and study relevant information to identify and control potential construction costs.
- Utilize Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel for document review and data management.
- Maintain project information within Builder Trend to support preconstruction workflows.
- Report directly to the Director of Operations via video conferencing to review bid progress and project status.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure successful bid submission and project hand-off.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience estimating commercial electrical projects.
- Mandatory proficiency in McCormick estimating software.
- Strong technical knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and Division 26 Specifications.
- Proven experience with lighting controls and fire alarm coordination.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and Builder Trend.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM EST.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for precise cost evaluation.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining consistent communication via Zoom.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and keyboard for prolonged periods.
- Specific vision abilities required for close work on computer screens and digital blueprints.
- Ability to participate in regular video conferencing and telephone communications.
- Light to moderate lifting may be required occasionally.
Pay Transparency:The anticipated pay range for this position is $28 to $30 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location.
