Job description: Schedule: Full-timeJob Type: HybridSalary Type: HourlyReq #: 1564About the RoleIn this role, you’ll be responsible for managing transportation operations to ensure products are delivered accurately, on time, and in the most efficient and cost-effective way-all while providing outstanding customer service. Following training, this position offers a hybrid flex work schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days working from home). This role is based in our Greensboro, North Carolina office, where in-person interviews will also be conducted.What The Candidate Will Do
- Use the Transportation Management System (TMS) to its fullest potential in order to facilitate the life cycle of an order
- Exceed customer on time pick-up and delivery expectations
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with carriers
- Effective and timely freight coverage and carrier selection through systemic routing guide and spot shipments including rate negotiation
- Leverage TMS to effectively route and consolidate orders considering best cost and transit options for all transportation modes
- Monitoring and resolving shipment data errors
- Proactive analysis to prevent service failures
- Proactively develop, recommend and implement cost savings and/or service improvement programs in support of the transportation strategy
- Professional and timely communications
- Identify patterns with shipper, receiver, and carrier performance and recommend actions for improvement
- Resolve carrier invoice discrepancies in TMS financials
- Train new customer and vendor users on the TMS, demonstrating knowledge of customer business practices and workflow
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, or a related field
- Foundational knowledge of BI tools and Tableau reporting
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
